Three of Viridian's products have won in The Veggie Awards, two of which are organic!

The Veggie Awards are the definitive consumer guide for plant-based customers, celebrating the best in meat-free food, cruelty-free beauty, and sustainable living, as well as the brands, organizations, and people making a positive difference for vegetarian, vegan, sustainable, and ethical causes.

The winning products are: Organic Peak Focus (Silver) Award and Organic Ultimate Beauty Nail & Cuticle Oil (Silver Award).

One judge commented on Viridian's Organic Skin Repair Topical Oil: “Perfect oil that absorbs well. Love that the bottle can be exchanged for money as it saves the customer recycling. Ingredients are brilliant and so good that it can be used on babies 7 months onwards and pregnant and lactating persons too. Love that every purchase contributes to a charity donation. Also, vegan and cruelty-free, and 100% active ingredients is a plus!”

Clearspring's Seaveg Crispies packaging no longer contains plastic.

Clearspring’s delicious and award-winning Organic Seaveg Crispies range has had a major packaging makeover, which will eliminate almost five million single-use plastic trays each year, the equivalent of nearly 18 tonnes of waste. Clearspring is removing the plastic trays in each pack with no impact on crispiness or taste. This is a much anticipated packaging upgrade across the entire Organic Seaveg Crispies range, reflecting both the company’s and the UK shopper’s desire to cut out plastic, wherever possible.

Clearspring’s Organic Seaveg Crispies, which won Best Organic Snack 20232 at the Soil Association’s Best of Organic Market (BOOM) Awards, is also getting a design refresh, alongside the slimmer, trayless packaging. The different flavours in the range, including Organic Original, Chilli, Ginger and Turmeric, will now be easier to spot with a stronger colour differentiation between each tasty option.

In further packaging improvements, the outer pack of the Seaveg Crispies Multipack will now be made from a recyclable paper-based material. The removal of the plastic tray also means space-saving on shelf for retailers, with smaller, more compact shelf-ready trade cases and a reconfiguration of units per case. The Organic Seaveg Crispies Singles range will go from 16 packs per trade case to 20, and the Seaveg Crispies Multipack units will go up from three units per Multipack to five, with six Multipacks in a trade case. Across the entire range, the change in packaging means 25% more product requiring 50% less shelf space.

Get Fair About Farming campaign organised by Riverford Organic

Almost half (49%) of British fruit and veg farmers fear they'll go out of business within the next year - and supermarkets are a leading cause. We're on a mission to tell supermarkets: it's time to get fair about farming.

Get Fair About Farming campaign organised by Riverford Organic got over 100,000 signatures calling on the government to stand up for British family farmers and put an end to their unfair treatment by supermarkets.
